“I engaged Creation Magazine's editorial services for my unpublished poetry manuscript. The team was supportive and communicative from start to finish, and everything about working with them was easy. Alexandra was an excellent communicator and facilitated my experience from application to connecting with my editor with professionalism but also great warmth. Ariana was my editor, and she was incredible. She clearly spent what can only be described as quality time with my manuscript, and delivered feedback that was objective, direct, and instructive. She provided extensive written feedback as well as a final video call where she provided input and ideas to strengthen the manuscript. We outlined clear goals for the editorial relationship, and Ariana delivered on each and every one. I would highly recommend working with the Creation team, they are excellent!”

"I am new to writing for an audience, and the service provided by Alexandra and her team of editorial advisors has significantly improved my work. I routinely run my work through Grammarly and past some friends who do “editorial” work, and their suggestions (though good) pale in comparison to the in-depth and nuanced questions and suggestions provided by the CreationMag editorial service. Of course, they do what I call “copy editing,” but the real value lies in their attention to the “spirit” of a piece. Character development, tone, plot inconsistencies, and other “hidden attributes.” Those intangible, background details that make a work more accessible and satisfying. Excellent stuff, and I look forward to working with them again, when I commit another story (or poem) to pixels and paper."

“I was able to sit down with Rachel's editorial comments and suggestions. I want to let you know that her generous and kind attention to these stories that I've lived with (for years!) has been invaluable. She quickly caught sight of the issues I've been grappling with (around tension) for years. Her advice gave me some concrete steps to revision some places in the stories and the encouragement to keep some of things that I love. The process itself was incredibly easy. Rachel read my work as a reader, as a writer, and as an editor. She finished reading very quickly (when I was out of town!) and provided me with wonderful model stories to mull as I rewrite. She's been kind enough to offer to continue to answer my questions after August 1, since she worked much faster than I did.”

“Working with Morgan was a positive and uplifting experience. Morgan is the first editor I have worked with one-on-one in revising my poetry. I have spent much of my writing career in small groups, giving and receiving praise and feedback. I greatly appreciate Morgan's delicate approach to my work, which I thanked her for immediately. Her critiques did not outweigh the praises and compliments. The critiques mainly focused on grammatical errors, imagery enhancement, and tense changes. The praise revolved around the imagery, diction, and other figurative language found throughout the manuscript. I also appreciate the new ideas Morgan brought to my attention. Thanks to her, I was able to draft voicemails, a grocery list, and a soundtrack for my manuscript. These ideas align well with the rest of the manuscript, focusing more on the personality and characteristics of the character from my manuscript. Morgan appeared to be appreciative of her ideas being utilized and brought to life in the manuscript.”

“I worked with Alexa on my poetry chapbook manuscript. Through Alexa's keen eye for language, context, and conventions around grammar, etc, I feel more confident submitting the chapbook to literacy chapbook contests. Because I have been living and breathing these poems for such a long time, it was nice to have a more detailed set of fresh eyes on the words and places where there might have been repetition or redundancy. I would have never picked those things up, but Alexa did. What I really appreciate about the whole process was the sensitivity around funds to pay Alexa, but also the intention behind the process. Alexa asked fundamental questions about my goals for the manuscript and the process which felt like she really wanted to see the success of the manuscript.”

“Loved working with Morgan. She was warm and responsive. I thought her feedback was succinct and effective. She also provided feedback on the arc of the full poetry collection, which was very appreciated.”
